The Double Special Signature Collection is based on two rare Overdrive Special–style combo amplifiers from different eras, representing over $300,000 in highly sought-after boutique gear. These tones deliver bold Texas blues authority, glassy cleans with blooming headroom, rich vocal lead sustain, and smooth edge-of-breakup response.
Using TONEX V2 AI Machine Modeling technology, multiple configurations were captured, including clean and overdrive channels in series, Rock and alternate voicings, Bright and Deep settings, Accent shaping, and real-world gain levels.
The first amp, a 1978 50-watt export combo (#0038), delivers warm cleans and smooth overdrive. The second, a later combo (#0080), offers tighter low end and more focused lead tones.
Captures were made through 1x12 and 2x12 cabinets loaded with Celestion JB-85, G12-65, and Electro-Voice EVM12L speakers, recorded with SM57/R121 and e609/U87 mic pairings. Select Complex Rig Tone Models feature boutique-inspired boost pedals.
