AMALGAM Element CU CAB
This prototype amp by amalgam audio was built as our take on the iconic AC30 formula - stouter bottom end and gobs of character. It is not possible to "improve" the AC30, but this will give you another crayon in you palette of VOX chime.
The amp is captured through 1964 VOX 2X12 with original Silver Alnico speakers. The cab was mic'd with a carefully phase-aligned multi-mic setup featuring 2x Royer R121, a Beyerdynamic M160 and a Neumann U87.
